The Royal Oak was first licensed to Steward and Patteson back in the early 1900's and was surrounded by fields and farmland.  Now this is a thriving award winning freehouse specialising in a range of well-kept real ales, in a friendly ever-growing village where people still say Hello.

We call it a town with a small 'e' on the end!  The village also boasts a brilliant post office, a Budgens supermarket, a handful of take-aways and several hairdressers so the full-bellied, well-groomed locals are well served in this village. There is also a community centre with a library, a tin hut village hall and a Police station.

The Royal Oak trades with numerous breweries and wholesalers to bring you ale from around Britain and in 2007 won Norfolk CAMRA Pub of the Year, a historic event as at that time, the award had not been given outside Norwich.  This proves that hard work and commitment is recognised not only by the locals but by the wider community.

We (Nick and Delia) came to the pub some ten years ago and with hard work and patience have steadily increased the range of real ales and we believe the pub is a joy to visit and most of the time, a joy to run.
